The Weekend: A Deconstruction

Early morning, full moon floats down the Columbia River
Morning forest dappled in sunlight, flowing past train windows
Riding the rails like a hobo
Sun rise above rocky peaks illuminates snow fields and glaciers
A runner waits for the passing train, waving cheerily at passengers
Too cheery. She's up to something sinister. Or not.
A scruffy teenager stands on a rocky bar of the river, his body rigid
Head thrown back in a howl to the retreating full moon
A pacific northwest werewolf...or adolescent angst
King Street station, Seattle's Grand Central in miniature
Hugs and smiles with a long time friend before a walk in the park
No Pants Man offers kisses and 'freebies', angry mothers will shred him
Old and new friends sharing laughter and swapping barbs
Sharing appetizers and swapping drinks
Jazzbones and Junkyard Jane with her washboard abs
F-bombs and Loveletters, vodka, tequila and rum
Pikes Place market, a culinary tour of ethnic flavors
Curried vegetable samosas, tempura shrimp on a stick, sesame balls
I bought a flute I could wear, I'm a dirty hippie tooting in the woods
City blocks overflowing with flowers, fruits and vegetables of every color
Street musicians...how did he get that piano over the curb?
Teleconference cocktails with friends afar, west coast meets east coast
And clarifies my hatred of cows
Margaritas round the firepit with Red Sox Amish
A reminder of all the different inferences of the word Gravity
Ballard farmers market, vintage shops and Chucky marathons
EMP Museum, a tornado of guitars and classic horror movies
Attacked by a winged dragon before
Settling once more upon the train
To hear endless stories of cats who no longer saunter among the living
